#GetChildrenReading for Children in the Early Years

StoryWeaver’s #GetChildrenReading initiative was designed to create a movement around reading. It collaborates with partners to reach the last mile child with books in their mother tongue. As part of the campaign, we’ve partnered with organisations who can adapt our initiative into unique solutions to cater to the children they focus on.

As a Bachpan Manao collabaction, EkStep Foundation & Pratham Books StoryWeaver collaborated on International Literacy Day to bring the magic of storybooks to children in the early years. Through this special initiative StoryWeaver has curated not only storybooks suited for early childhood, but also free resources, weekly storybooks, picture books, read-aloud stories, read-along stories, stories on themes like socio-emotional learning, every day things, school, other activies activities and more for doing with children.

This collaboration aims to provide children with access to multilingual storybooks, fostering a love for reading and learning. The intent is to encourage communities to pledge to read regularly with children, offering curated storybooks in various languages each week to get started.

You can choose from 4 languages – EnglishHindiKannadaMarathi. Parents, grandparents or teachers – everyone can join in and tell a story in their language!

You can become a Joyful Reading Champion by holding a read-aloud session using this link, and earn a special certificate for your contribution. Share your journey by posting a photo of your session with #GetChildrenReading and get featured on the campaign page!

Make a pledge to read and inspire the next generation of young learners.
