In commemoration of 50 years of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), the Key Education Foundation launched “Bachpan Ka Thyohaar”, a storybook celebrating the vibrant journey of Anganwadis as nurturing spaces for children aged 3 to 6.
The book captures how Anganwadis, often at the heart of rural India, have evolved into joyful centers of play, care, and early learning. Inspired by the Bachpanka Tyohar festival in Chhatarpur, where entire communities rallied around children and childhood, this book is both a tribute to Anganwadi workers and a call to reimagine these spaces as enablers of joyful learning.
With stories of transformation led by Anganwadi workers, district leaders, and communities, the book shines a light on how play, imagination, and care can shape strong childhood foundations. It echoes the message that every child deserves spaces where they can learn, grow, and thrive with joy.
