Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) by Pratham Education Foundation is a nationwide survey assessing rural Indian children’s schooling and learning. Kids aged 3 to 16 are surveyed for enrollment, while those aged 5 to 16 are tested in basic reading and math. Since 2005, ASER remains the sole annual source for foundational skills data. It covers most rural districts, providing district, state, and national estimates for ages 5 to 16.
ASER ‘Early Years’ focuses on ages 4 to 8, examining school status and key predictors of future success in cognitive, language, numeracy, and social-emotional domains.
