SUMMARY:Teaching Body Safety in the Early Years Classrooms
DESCRIPTION:Did you know\, our bodies are the first site for exploration and learning? Yet\, how often do you come across a program that addresses body literacy in childhood? While we are all aware that this is important\, we don’t often have the language or the methods to have conversations with 3 or 4 year old children and empower them with the knowledge to keep their bodies safe and enable agency for the child. \nKey Education Foundation partnered with Circles of Safety to pilot a program to introduce body safety as a part of the classroom curriculum. In this month’s Masterclass\, Key Education Foundation will share key takeaways\, learning and possibilities that have emerged through the pilot. \nKey Takeaways from the session: \n\nExplore an age-appropriate and culturally relevant program to educate children on body literacy.\nWhat kind of training and mindsets are essential to prepare teachers to facilitate these conversations\nInsights on how teachers and parents received this as a part of ECE teaching and learning\n\n\nBuild capacity in your organization to confidently tackle sensitive situations and inform children on body safety through teacher/staff training\n\nKey Education Foundation works with children from low-income communities to ensure that they get the best Early Childhood Education.
